Keena Cummins ~ London, UK
Keena Cummins is a speech and language therapist and the developer of VERVE Child Interaction. Over decades of work with children, families, and therapists, she refined a practice that places video observation and shared interaction at its heart.
Her journey began in traditional therapy, but she saw the power of video to reveal hidden interaction habits, and how small changes in adult responsiveness can shift a child’s developmental path. Today, she delivers training, supervision, and support for professionals and families internationally — while continually evolving the VERVE approach.Find out more about working with Keena.

Jane Oswell ~ Brisbane, Australia
With nearly two decades of experience as a Speech and Language Therapist, Jane has worked across community clinics, schools, and hospitals, supporting children and adults with a wide range of communication and feeding difficulties. After 13 years in the UK, she returned to Brisbane, where she now works at Progress Pathways Child Development Therapies and with the Paediatric Palliative Care team at the Queensland Children’s Hospital.
VERVE has transformed Jane’s approach, using video interactions between children and the adults around them to highlight strengths, understand challenges, and build a shared perspective. Introduced to this work in 2006 and later deepened through her connection with Keena in 2011, she developed a strong appreciation for the power of everyday supportive techniques, as well as the impact of adult silence and child face-watching—insights that continue to shape her clinical practice.

The VERVE Approach -

Sophie Naouache ~ Paris, France
Sophie has been practicing as a pediatric nurse in France for 17 years, primarily in infant health and social care settings within a Foyer Départemental de l’Enfance (FDE), as well as in Maternal and Child Health Services (PMI). These experiences have enabled her to develop in-depth expertise in the fine observation of infants and young children under the age of three.
Throughout her professional career, she has developed specific skills in parental support, with a particular focus on fostering and strengthening early parent–child interactions, which are essential to the child’s overall development. In this perspective, and in order to enhance both her practice and the quality of her support, she undertook training in the VERVE method in 2023 with Keena.
In 2024, she initiated within her health center the implementation of a developmental screening program at the 24-month health check, using the ASQ-3 tool, combined with an individualized parent–child support approach based on the VERVE method.
